Considering a Breast Lift?

The ideal candidates for a breast lift are women who are in good general physical and mental health, and who have realistic expectations about their results. While a breast lift can enhance your figure and boost your self-confidence, this type of breast surgery won’t increase your cup size unless you combine breast implants with your lift.

Most women considering a breast lift are unhappy with the shape or position of their breasts, and may wish to reduce their areola size and correct downward-pointing nipple placement as well. A breast lift can also improve the texture of your breasts so they feel firmer in addition to looking more uplifted and youthful.

The best breast lift results are seen in those women with drooping, small to moderately sized breasts who have already completed their families. Larger breasts, future pregnancies or weight fluctuations can all impact the long-term outcome of your surgery. You can see examples of the breast lift results that are possible in our before & after photo gallery.

Planning Your Surgery

Scheduling a consultation with Dr. Nein is the first step in your breast lift surgery. During this time, you can talk together more about your personal goals for the procedure as well as the likely outcome you can expect. Dr. Nein will also conduct a physical evaluation during your consultation and review the variables that could affect your final results, like your skin condition, breast size and your age. For some women, he may recommend including breast implants along with your lift.

He’ll also explain more about what you can expect during the surgery itself, including where incisions will be located, the new position of your nipples and areola. You will receive detailed information about procedural steps, anesthesia and the surgical facility, risks and limitations, and cost information about your breast lift surgery.

Although your consultation is a great time to ask Dr. Nein any questions you may have about your breast lift, we’re happy to address any of your concerns at all stages of your cosmetic surgery and throughout your recovery.

Diane’s Breast Lift Story

“I was always satisfied with my breasts. The size was good and the shape was fine. I never thought about having anything done to them. A couple of years ago, I noticed that when I looked at them in mirror, I thought they were too low and looked a little big.”

Your Recovery & Results

After surgery, you’ll feel bruised and swollen for the first day or two, but most women find that any discomfort can be relieved by medication. Dr. Nein will replace the initial bandages with a soft, supportive bra after a few days, which you should continue wearing for the next few weeks.

Healing is a gradual process, so you can expect swelling to dissipate over the next several weeks even though most women are back to their normal routine after a day or two. It’s important to avoid strenuous activity or lifting over the head for about a month, and to call Dr. Nein with any concerns during your recovery.

Your breasts should look uplifted and shapelier after your breast lift, and should have a firmer feel to them as well. Nipples and areola that previously looked large or pointed downward should be centered and proportionate to your new breast shape and placement. Women often feel sexier and more self-confident after a breast lift.
