Nonsurgical Labia Remodeling

Although many women feel self-conscious about the appearance of their labia (vaginal lips), the idea of undergoing surgical labiaplasty and recovery can feel intimidating. A new radiofrequency-based procedure now allows for a type of nonsurgical labiaplasty called labia remodeling. The Exilis™ Protégé Intima can help restore plumpness and firmness along with improving the aesthetic appearance of your inner or outer labia and perineum, helping you feel confident and sexy without surgery or downtime.

Dr. Alexander Nein is a board certified plastic surgeon who is highly experienced in performing surgical labiaplasty, and his Nashville plastic surgery practice is the first and only one to currently offer nonsurgical labia remodeling in Tennessee and the surrounding states. In addition to surgical and nonsurgical genital rejuvenation, Dr. Nein performs a full range of cosmetic surgery procedures for both men and women.

If you’re ready to learn more, please contact us online today, or call 615-327-0201 to schedule your labia modeling consultation at our Nashville plastic surgery practice. We have patients travel to us from all parts of Tennessee including Franklin, Clarksville, Murfreesboro and other communities.

Considering Nonsurgical Labiaplasty?

Like other areas of the body, the external vaginal appearance can change over time, becoming less smooth and firm, particularly after childbirth. Many women also notice asymmetry between sides, or simply want more discreet labial contours. Labia remodeling can not only address the physical issues related to these concerns, but the treatment can also improve sexual satisfaction by increasing tightness.

The best candidates for labia remodeling are women who are physically mature. Women considering nonsurgical labiaplasty often feel embarrassed about how their labia look, whether they’ve always had naturally larger labia or feel unhappy with changes that have occurred in their appearance due to age, or following hormone fluctuations related to pregnancy and childbirth. If you feel like your labia physically interfere with your normal daily activities, or feeling sensitive about their appearance interferes emotionally with your sex life, you could be a good candidate for labia remodeling.

Many women incorporate cosmetic gynecology procedures like labia remodeling as part of a mommy makeover so they can feel more like themselves again in every way.

Planning Your Procedure

Before your first labia remodeling treatment, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Nein to talk more about your hopes for the procedure. Dr. Nein will go into more detail more about what you can expect during the treatment itself as well as the results you’re likely to see.

During this time, Dr. Nein will perform a physical evaluation to make sure that labia remodeling is the best option to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. He’ll also ask any health-related questions that are relevant to your treatment, including asking about any vitamins, supplements, or prescription medications you may be taking. Finally, Dr. Nein will explain the technology behind labia remodeling so you’re fully informed before proceeding.

While your consultation is the most convenient time to ask Dr. Nein about any specific questions or concerns you’d like addressed, remember that our team is always happy to help in any way they can at any point before or after your treatment session.

Your Recovery & Results

The monopolar radiofrequency energy delivered by the Protégé Intima device is completely noninvasive, with most women describing the treatment as ranging from comfortable to very comfortable. As focused thermal energy is applied, collagen fibers are heated to a specific temperature that causes them to contract and tighten. Your body’s natural healing processes then respond by increasing collagen production, firming and plumping the delicate labial tissues.

During your labia remodeling treatment, power can be adjusted to your specific comfort level, and a special applicator design prevents overheating. Best of all, there is no significant recovery period, and you can resume your normal daily activities immediately after your labia remodeling. The best results are seen after around four treatment sessions, which are typically spaced about a week apart. Many women notice a change after their very first session, although your final results can take between 3 to 6 months to fully develop.

Following one or more treatment sessions, you should see not only an aesthetic improvement in the appearance of your labia, but you may notice more tightness throughout the vaginal area that can increase sexual sensation for both partners.
